The Great Malvern Cake Off

Brief: Inspired by the iconic advert aired before Bake Off, we are looking for the best ‘look-alike’ bakes - from everyday household items and garden tools to fruit, vegetables, books, handbags, toys or festival favourites, your creation should fool the eye before delighting the taste buds. The more realistic, creative and surprising the illusion, the better!

Specifications: Any shape & size and type to reflect the item you’re aiming to recreate in cake, all skills levels welcome.

Brief: Any baked interpretation of a pudding: Celebrating the rich heritage of British puddings, exhibitors are invited to create a baked cake inspired by a classic British pudding. Examples might include a Sticky Toffee Pudding cake, Jam Roly-Poly-inspired sponge, or a cake inspired by a traditional Christmas pudding. The interpretation is open to the exhibitor, but the connection to the chosen pudding should be clearly recognisable.

Specifications: Any cake type, any type of icing and decoration.

Brief: This class celebrates fun, imagination and the joy of a child's birthday party. The cake should be colourful, imaginative and suitable for a children's birthday celebration. Any decoration technique may be used, including sugarcraft, modelling paste, royal icing, buttercream, or other edible decorative mediums.

Specifications: Minimum 20cm diameter bake, any shape & any cake/decoration.

Brief: Create and decorate a traybake inspired by life on the farm. Entries should feature a clear farmyard theme, which may include
farm animals, tractors, barns, fields, crops, or other rural scenes and characters.

Brief: Recognising the abundance of local talented bakers and makers within our Three Counties, the ‘Best in the Business’ class provides bakers the opportunity to showcase their skills & business to our thousands of visitors. Each successful entrant will have the opportunity to display promotional material in a A5 counter top poster holder.

Specifications: Minimum of 2 tiers, 20cm minimum diameter bake. Any shape & any cake/decoration of choice.
